Religious Education

As you would expect, religious education is provided to students attending Sacred Heart of Jesus School. We also provide religious education opportunities to adults and to children who attend public schools. We encourage parishioners who want a deeper relationship with Jesus to take advantage of our Adult Faith Formation program, our Parish School of Religion, and our Vacation Bible School.

This ministry schedule promotes and coordinates activities that encourage parishioners’ spiritual growth, helping them to grow in grace and foster closer relationships with Christ. Meetings are held bi-monthly for 1/2 – 1 hour in order to plan and coordinate activities and follow-up to expedite those activities. For more information on Adult Faith Formation contact Kurt Gerschutz at 330.334.5366 or Mark Smith at 330.606.7195.

All men of high school-age and up are invited to our Annual Men’s Conference on November 19, 2016. Click for more info.

Sacred Heart University of Religion (SHUR)

In support of the mission of the Adult Faith Formation Commission, Sacred Heart University of Religion (SHUR) intends to provide a continuing stream of educational programs for our adult parishioners. These programs will mainly use parishioners as facilitators/teachers who will draw from a rich library of pertinent books, DVDs and other media available from various Catholic sources.  For more information about SHUR contact Dick or Barbara Hills at 330.336.6946.

Vacation Bible School – June 17-21, 2019!

Calling all adventurers!  Come join the Rousing and Rip-roaring wild world of ROAR and learn how Life is Wild and God is Good!   This epic African adventure engages the whole herd. At Roar, kids explore God’s goodness and celebrate a ferocious faith that powers them through this wild life. Each day kids will be immersed in new adventures as they travel from station to station, learning about the Saints, and deepening their relationship with Christ. Your child will go on a faith-filled safari, where they don’t just hear about God’s love; they see it, touch it, sing it, taste it, and put it into action through daily God Sightings.

Registration for adventure seekers (PreK-5th grade) ends May 19. Cost is $25 per child which includes activities, daily snacks, and much more! Registration forms can be found below and are also available at all church doors.

We need a whole crew of “gallant guides” and station assistants (6th grade and older) ready to serve God to help bring our 2019 VBS to life! See form below.

For more information or to volunteer to be a part of this faith-filled adventure, please contact Annette Bernard at 330-336-3049, etc. 2009.
