Where
God is always working
The Generations of Faith initiative begins this fall at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish! Our
theme for the first year will be, Come to the Carpenter
Shop, Where God is
Always Working!
All generations will grow
in faith together in a time frame that works for today’s busy people.
Why “The Carpenter Shop” ? Just as
Jesus worked quietly and steadily in his carpenter shop, so the Lord works
in His Church. In the seven monthly faith festivals, we will look at the
incarnational presence of the Lord in our lives throughout the church
year. God is here. God is with us. From Advent to Christmas, from Easter
to Pentecost, we will dig deep to see the wonder of God in all things and
in all times.
Generations of Faith is a parish-wide process. Together we are to be the people of God, sharing both food and
faith. Help is still needed to make these monthly festivals happen. Please
turn in your yellow volunteer form as soon as possible. Can you cook?
Build? Paint? Baby-sit? Sing? We need you!
“Season” tickets go on sale
usually the last
week of August. These will cover the cost of the faith
festivals. If
you can only come to some of the festivals, you can also purchase
individual session tickets at a slightly higher cost.
Can you bring someone with you? Our Room-for-One-More program encourages each
person or family to bring in one other person. We are all called to evangelize. Like
Andrew, who brought Peter to see Jesus, can you bring in one more? One
child? One grandchild? Your
son’s friend? Your daughter’s schoolmate? We don’t want
anyone to be left out, especially those young people whose parents can’t
be there. There is always room for one more. (Two is even better…Or
three…Or four…) God give you the courage to be an Andrew!
Pray, pray, pray! Only the Spirit of God can transform us as a
parish. Please pray for this exciting upcoming
Generations of Faith season.
Choose
the day of the week that works best for you!
What does a faith festival look like? How does the process move from
the monthly festival to build faith in the whole parish? It's
simple, the program follows these six steps:
